Nowadays Tourism is the most important income source, but tourism started just 50 years ago. So how survived people earlier in the Oetztal; without transportation and money?
Most of the people were farmers or just hard workers and tried to support their families.

The Ötztaler Heimat- und Freilichmuseum includes all in all 8 buildings. Starting with a "modern" Farmershouse and ending up with a huge saw for the wood-work.
