A hellish custom with a lot of tradition

For many years the "Krampus-tradition" is a big custom in the Oetztal. It's difficult to describe what it's all about. People dress up as devils who accompany Hl. Nikolaus. There is no real sense why they come with the Hl. Nikolaus; their only (sensless) job is, to frighten the kids in the house, if they didn't behave well in past.

Every year there is a huge parade, where all the devils dress them up and construct big coaches. The parade attracts a lot of spectators every year.

But all in all everybody should have their own opinion about it: on the one hand we shoult save our customs but on the other hand there is not a real function for all the devils. Nevertheless everybody should have seen such a great parade once in a lifetime; you will be impressed!!!
