The name premium trails in Oetztal, also known as "Wasserläufer in Ötztal" is reserved for hiking trails which get in especially close touch with water. Discover the strong element water and its many facets on the premium trails of the Oetztaler Wasserläufer. These trails lead from gently flowing creeks and calm lakes to thundering waterfalls and the ice of glaciers.

The Wasserläufer hiking trails are rated easy to moderate and invite hiking enthusiasts in Oetztal to really get in touch with the water and rediscover its diversity.

Because of the extraordinary highlights of these trails, two of the total six Premium Trails in Oetztal were awarded with the special seal of the ITB in Berlin, becoming the first hiking trails in Austria to be awarded! These are the Wasserläufer around the Piburg lake in Oetz and the the Wasserläufer Stuibenfall in Umhausen.

The other Wasserläufer trails in Oetztal are the hikes to the Rotmoosferner in Obergurgl, the 4-lakes-trail above Laengenfeld, the hike to the Peerlersee near Soelden and to the Rofenhoefe near Vent.
