Mountain biking in Tyrol in the Ötztal valley

Single trails & tours through the Ötztal valley

With the mountain bike through the Tyrolean Ötztal valley

When the last snow has disappeared, the summer splendor of the Ötztal unfolds. Dense forests, exciting rock formations and rushing streams form the framework for the almost 700 km of official mountain bike tours with different levels of difficulty for downhillers, freeriders or touring cyclists. According to the mountain bike model of the province of Tyrol, every bike vacationer will find the ideal route here, from easy blue mountain bike tours to extreme single trails that can hardly be mastered without experience.

The starting point is in Haiming (655 m) and the ambitious finish of the Ötztal Cycle Path is in Sölden (1348 m). The 55.5 km long route is classified as difficult and should not be underestimated. It is recommended to wear special bike protection equipment. Care should be taken to carry sufficient water. On the way there are also countless inns where you can stop and take a break.

If the entire route is too demanding for one day, it can be divided into 4 stages to make it easier. The stages are all of medium difficulty.

  • Haiming - Oetz: 14,7 km, 01.30 h
  • Oetz - Umhausen: 7,8k m 01.15 h
  • Umhausen - Längenfeld: 14,7 km, 02.00 h
  • Längenfeld - Sölden: 15,6 km, 01.20 h

Reach your destination effortlessly with e-bikes

The Ötztal is already the bike mecca in the Tyrolean Oberland and with the new innovation of the e-bike, this sport is once again moving the masses.
Cycling with an e-bike is booming enormously and is revolutionizing the cycling industry. The enjoyable biking with "tail wind" is twice as much fun with half the power. In most sports stores in the Ötztal there is an e-bike rental or the battery can be exchanged and charged.

Also use the e-bike for "e-hiking" and cycle effortlessly with the electric help to the huts and alpine pastures in the Ötztal. From there, you can then comfortably start a mountain or summit tour. On the way back you just have to get on your bike and cycle down.

Don't miss this opportunity and make everyone else look old!

Every now and then you need to take a break, which is exactly what the bike rest areas with charging station are best suited for. Charge your e-bike easily at the Bike-Energy quick charging station and without having to bring your own home charger. Just plug in the adapter (charging cable XLR plug) and let your bike charge, meanwhile you can enjoy your well-deserved break. The charging stations are free of charge and accessible at all times.
