The more than 60 irresistible curves offer a driving experience in a class of its own and are an absolute insider tip for convertible, motorcycle and mountain bike riders.
As another highlight, Hochgurgl offers the Top Mountain Crosspoint: a motorcycle museum, a restaurant, a gondola lift and the toll station for the Timmelsjoch High Alpine Road all in one! The former mountain farming village of Obergurgl at 1,930 meters has undergone an unparalleled transformation since the emergency landing of Auguste Piccard's stratospheric balloon on May 27, 1931. As the highest church village in Austria, it is now a sophisticated tourist resort that attracts guests from all over the world in winter and summer. The fact that this is not a trend of our time was already proven in 1925 by the legendary director Alfred Hitchcock, who chose Obergurgl as the ideal location for his film "The Mountain Eagle".
Due to its privileged altitude (3,000 m), Obergurgl is one of the most charming ski vacation resorts in Europe.
